Duo Étoilé

Come and discover the special atmosphere of a night race, where team spirit and sharing are the watchwords.

You'll leave with stars in your eyes...

To take part in this race, it is recommended that you have previous mountain running experience, are comfortable on all types of terrain and are self-sufficient for several hours. We draw your attention to the fact that a runner without an UTMB performance index above 240 points has very little chance of finishing the race, so it's more advisable to take part in another Mont Blanc Marathon event.

Number bib pick-up

Pick-up of race numbers at Place du Mont-Blanc by appointment

  • Thursday June 27 from 09:00 to 21:00
  • Friday June 28 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm

To collect their race numbers for the Duo Etoilé, runners must bring their race bag, including all the materials required to check their timing chip and equipment. Numbers will not be issued to runners who fail to present their bags and equipment.

No race numbers will be issued after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Mandatory equipment

As this event takes place on mountain trails at altitudes between 1000 and 2200 metres, weather conditions can change very quickly. For this reason, the following equipment is mandatory to protect against bad weather.

Runners will only receive their race numbers if they present the compulsory equipment when collecting their numbers.

  • Cell phone in working order.
  • Water reserve of at least 0.50 liters.
  • Waterproof jacket with hood (gore-tex type) adapted to your size.
  • Headlamp or chest protector in working order.
  • Survival blanket (140cm x 200cm).
  • Whistle.
  • Tumbler.

Recommended equipment depending on weather conditions

  • Cap.
  • Tights.
  • Gloves.
  • Bowl + spoon

Time barriers

The times indicated below are given as an indication and may be modified if necessary for the safety of participants. In the event of adverse weather conditions, and for safety reasons, the organization reserves the right to stop the race in progress or modify the time limits. All decisions will be taken by the race jury.

Any runner arriving at a time barrier after the cut-off time will be disqualified. The lower right-hand corner of the race number will be "cut out" by the race marshal and the runner will be asked to take public transport back to Chamonix. If the runner wishes to continue the race, his or her number will be collected by the race marshal and the runner will no longer be considered a participant in the Duo étoilé, and will therefore no longer be under the responsibility of the organizer.

Anyone disrespecting the volunteers in charge of this function will be permanently excluded from all Mont Blanc Marathon events.
