Elite runners

For each race, high-level athletes can benefit from an elite race number, free of charge or for a fee, depending on their UTMB index.

Criteria for elite race numbers 2026

This is theUTMB index held by the runner on the day of his or her registration request, which determines the criteria for the allocation of his or her race number. For runners without an UTMB index, the ITRA score may also be taken into account.

Prize money 2026

Prize money is awarded equally to male and female winners of the 42km Mont-Blanc, 90km Mont-Blanc, 23km Mont-Blanc and Vertical Kilometer.

Compulsory accreditation for runners assistance

Team managers accompanying elite athletes and those wishing to assist a runner must apply for accreditation, in order to be authorized to follow their runner on the course and have access to the feed zones.

As a reminder, runner assistance is only authorized 100m before and 100m after the feed zones. Any assistance provided outside the authorized zones will result in a time penalty being applied to the runners receiving the assistance.

Accreditations will be distributed at the Chamonix Nordic House 
(51 Avenue de la Plage, 74400 Chamonix-Mont-Blanc).
