2026 Mont Blanc Marathon: A Weekend That Ended on a High Note

After a first day marked by victories for Louison Coiffet and Candice Fertin-Baccon in the 90 km race, the 2026 Mont-Blanc Marathon continued with an emotionally charged Saturday before concluding on Sunday with the legendary 42 km Mont-Blanc race. These two days reaffirmed, once again, the event’s status as a global benchmark.

Saturday: A Day for All Trail Running Enthusiasts

Saturday brought runners together for several iconic races, including the 23 km, the 10 km, the Mini-Cross, The Young Race, and the Duo Étoilé. From the youngest participants to the elite runners of tomorrow, and from amateurs to mountain enthusiasts, each race delivered its share of impressive performances and excitement on the trails of the Chamonix Valley.

The 23 km race was won by France’s Benjamin Polin of Team New Balance and Switzerland’s Oria Liaci, while the 10 km race was won by Lukas Ehrle and Mădălina Florea. Young talents also shone in The Young Race, reaffirming the Mont-Blanc Marathon’s role as a true springboard to the elite level.

Sunday: Tove Alexandersson and Rémi Bonnet at the Top

The 42 km Mont-Blanc race provided an exceptional spectacle. In the men’s race, Rémi Bonnet prevailed after an intense duel with Frédéric Tranchand, returning to the top step of the podium in an event he had previously won in 2023.

The performance of the day belonged to Tove Alexandersson. The Swedish runner put on a masterclass, completing the course in 3 h 55 min 07 s, becoming the first woman in history to break the four-hour mark at the Mont-Blanc Marathon and to cross the finish line before the men’s winner. A historic achievement that brings this 2026 edition to a perfect close.

Thank you for this 2026 edition!

A huge thank you to all the runners, volunteers, partners, and teams involved, as well as to the valley’s residents for their dedication, energy, and trust throughout this weekend.

The Mont-Blanc Marathon continues to be much more than just a race: it’s a unique human adventure in the heart of an exceptional region.

Thank you to everyone, and see you soon on the trails of Chamonix.
