OFFICIAL INFORMATION

Due to the weather conditions that arose on the evening of Saturday, June 27, we decided, together with the Race Jury, to suspend and then cancel the Duo Étoilé race.

We gradually transported all runners back to Chamonix. After a mandatory stop at the Caillet and Planards checkpoints to confirm their return, all participants were able to return home.

We will be in touch with the Duo Étoilé participants in the coming days.

As for The Young Race, all participants are safe and have made it back to Chamonix.

As a precautionary measure, we sheltered 22 runners from the U20 category at the Plan de l’Aiguille refuge before organizing their descent in the evening, supervised by rescue teams. Their parents were contacted individually throughout the process.

The Young Race awards ceremony will go ahead as planned and will take place this Sunday, June 28, at 5:00 p.m.

Two members of the organizing team, who were waiting for the race to pass by, suffered minor electric shocks near the Plan de l’Aiguille refuge. Rescue teams on site responded immediately. The two individuals received medical attention and were evacuated to Chamonix. Their condition is not cause for concern. The families involved have been notified.

We would like to thank all the volunteers, rescue teams, law enforcement, and our partners for their efforts, as well as the runners and their support staff for their understanding and cooperation.
